Henry Ford Summary

As a young boy, Henry Ford quickly began demonstrating the characteristics that would someday make him the biggest entrepreneur in the modern car industry. He began working on his father’s farm, but always returned to working for himself with a group of hand-picked friends that would make Ford Motor Company the two hundred billion dollar company that it is today. Through trial and error, Ford developed Model T, which was his first largely-selling ‘horseless carriage”.

His company grew bigger after two failed attempts and he eventually had to hire over fifty thousand people per year, just to keep fourteen thousand jobs filled to meet production quotas. Henry Ford is known for many things that include the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, the benefits of trial and error, and famous quotes. One of his most famous quotes states, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right”. What he means by this is that a person’s mindset is the key factor in achieving or falling short of a goal.

The motivation to succeed or lack thereof can often times push a person over the hurdle they’re experiencing. This quote applies to my own life in that I once thought that I could not pass a basic math class in middle school. After many failed attempts, I simply started to tell myself that I can and will achieve this goals. Seven years later, I graduated from High School with an advanced diploma.
